Missouri Police Officer Shot in the Line of Duty

 

 A police officer in southwest Missouri is shot and injured in the line of duty near Branson.

 An officer from the Forsyth, Missouri, Police Department was injured in the line of duty late Tuesday evening while assisting on a call with the Taney County Sheriff's Office. The officer had been dispatched to a road rage incident near the intersection of MO 76 and US 160.

Upon contact with the subject, he opened fire on the officer, striking him twice before fleeing into the nearby brush. The suspect was later apprehended by other assisting agencies with the use of a drone and K-9 officers. The wounded officer was treated at a trauma center in Springfield and released early yesterday morning.
