An inmate at the Winfield Correctional Facility has died.

 Authorities at the facility report that 59 year old Michael Lynn Youngblood died yesterday (Tuesday) after he collapsed while working with a crew picking up trash along a highway near Wichita. EMS was called to administer life-saving measures but they were unable to resuscitate Youngblood. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy. Youngblood's death is currently under investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Corrections.

Youngblood was serving a four year sentence for drug possession in McPherson County.
