USD 446 will be looking for teachers at Independence Middle School.

 

Four members of the IMS staff resigned at this month's school board meeting: English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher Chelsie Bronson, Special Education teacher Shane Koranda, Math teacher Michael Main, and long-term English/Language Arts substitute Rebecca Meadows.

 

The district has already filled Bronson's position, hiring Zoe Near to the same position.

 

Additional items of business at the March school board meeting was a donation of $1,000 from Equity Bank, the hiring of Morgan Mavers as head dance coach at IHS, as well as an update on the Early Learning Center from Superintendent Jason McAfee.

 

USD 446 meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Independence High School.
