Cherryvale Residents Express Concern About Potential Trailer Park

 

Some Cherryvale citizens are expressing concern about a proposed RV park in town.

 

At last night's meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, zoning for a private trailer park near Neosho and Whelan in Cherryvale was discussed. Some residents are against the idea of the park and the required utility upgrades that will be necessary.

 

Cherryvale Resident Bonnie Davis expressed her opinion at the start of the regular council meeting and says she's against the idea.

 

Nothing was decided at either meeting regarding the proposed trailer park.

 

Davis, who owns a local restaurant, also expressed her opposition to food trucks being parked in front of city hall.

 

In other business, the council approved a bid for cemetery mowing at $63,500, which is almost double last year's budget. Approval was also given to open bids for haying of city properties, a mower bid was approved and the council also voted to open bids to hay city properties.
