Independence City Commission Approves Plan for KDOT Application

 

 The City of Independence has plans to refurbish to major streets in the city.

 

At last night's city commission meeting, City Engineer John Garris asked for commission approval to submit applications for grant money for two projects. The first project would be a mill and overlay project on east Main street from 2nd street to the city limits. The other project would be a re-paving of 10th street from Main to Laurel. Garris says this project is likely to gain KDOT approval soon.
 

Commissioners gave the go-ahead for the application process. They also approved a contract with

T-L-C Groundskeeping for a grassing package for the new Central Park Sports Complex.
