A Parsons man is arrested after admitting to firing shots inside his apartment.

On Sunday, the Parsons Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the Prairie West Condos. Several callers alerted authorities to the sound of multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, A PPD officer was approached by 21-year-old Johnathan Matthew Banning-Norris, who walked toward the officer with his hands raised, admitting to having fired shots and claiming to have shot two people.

The investigation led officers to the apartment complex of the potential victims, but no one was found. Evidence of gunfire, multiple shell casings and a 9mm pistol were recovered at the scene. Banning-Norris was arrested on suspicion of criminal discharge of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm in the city limits.
