A detour has been put in place with road work on South Walnut Street.
Highway 169 South is reduced to one lane traffic from 15th Street South to Walden for the Kansas Department of Transportation Pavement Restoration Project. Southbound traffic will be detoured west on 11th Street, south on Willow and then east on Eldridge.
Coffeyville City Clerk Melissa Carter says there have been several issues with vehicles not following the detour, which is creating a safety hazard. More signage has been ordered to help with directing traffic.
