Coffeyville Ambulance Service Improves With Donation From Cherokee Nation

Radio communication for Coffeyville’s ambulance service receives a boost with a $50,000 gift from the Cherokee Nation.

Cherokee tribal leaders presented the $50,000 gift to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center officials and CRMC’s emergency services personnel during a visit to the hospital campus on February 26. The gift was awarded to the CRMC Foundation, which will use the money to purchase 18 radios, 11 of which will be placed in ambulance fleet and emergency-related vehicles. The remaining radios will be used in the emergency room, EMS quarters and EMS command center.

Cherokee tribal officials noted the need to equip CRMC’s ambulance service with modern and reliable radio communication, considering that the Coffeyville EMS service’s primary coverage includes the northern one-third of Nowata County, which is within the Cherokee Nation.
