K-State Research and Extension Wildcat District is holding a Youth Tractor Safety Training Course on Tuesday in Altamont.

 The course is open to 14 and 15 year olds. Community Vitality Extension Agent Frances Graves says it's tractor safety is an important set of skills for young farmers to have.

Students who complete the course will earn certification to legally operate farm equipment for employers. The course runs from 9am to 3:30pm on Tuesday at the Labette County Extension Office located at 524 Huston Street in Altamont. The cost is $10 and lunch is provided. To register, call 620-784-5337.
