The Sedan City Council approves a new bicycle race for area cyclists set for October.

 Nathaniel McClure of Rendezvous Adventures Outfitters spoke before the city council at yesterday's meeting to ask for their approval in hosting a gravel road bicycle race in October. McClure says his group wants to showcase Sedan and southeast Kansas.

McClure added that some of the reasons the group wants the race in Sedan is because the area roads are nicely graveled and the area has some good hills for a challenging course. The race is called the SoKan Jam and is tentatively slated to occur in October.
