Miami Approves Interim City Manager

The City of Miami chooses its Interim City Manager, while it begins the search for a new one.

The Council approved Public Utility Director Tyler Cline to fill the role at this week's meeting and accepted the contract for the services of Strategic Government Resources, who is searching for the next city manager. Cline will take over after the resignation of current City Manager Bo Reese takes effect on March 23rd. Cline previously served as interim in 2021 after former city manager Dean Kruithoff retired.

Cline has worked for the City of Miami since 2011 and will continue his duties as Public Utility Director while serving as interim. He is a lifelong resident of Miami and a Miami High School and Oklahoma State University graduate. The SGR search process for candidates and a selection process for Miami’s next city manager is expected to take eight to 12 weeks.
