A former Coffeyville Community College football coach joins the staff at Independence Community College.

Cody Oates joins the college as the new Executive Director of the ICC Foundation. Board Chair Amber Gregory says they are excited to welcome Oates to the ICC family for his expertise in scholarships and comprehension of the community college landscape. In addition to CCC, Oates held coaching positions at the University of Missouri and Butler Community College, where he focused on player development, recruitment, and game planning.

Oates says he is excited to continue his passion for helping young people as he transitions into this new role. Oates will lead efforts to support student success by awarding scholarships, raising funds for college enhancements and strengthening community partnerships.
