The Kansas Forest Service battles a grass fire in northeast Kansas.

 The KFS has been battling the blaze about ten miles northeast of Silver Lake in Shawnee County. The KFS warns citizens to be aware of their surroundings as the risk of fire remains elevated due to dry conditions and high winds.
