Elk County Sheriff deputies assist Greenwood County Sheriff in a pursuit.

Earlier today, Elk County dispatch received a call from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s office that they had a deputy in a vehicle chase that was heading into Elk County. Deputies were dispatched and located the vehicle at Highway 99 and Rock Road. The Greenwood County officer had a man in custody but a woman fled the scene.

Elk County Rural Fire was called to assist with their drone. The woman was located and taken into custody no deputies were injured during this incident. EMS was called to the scene to check out both suspects. One of the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office patrol units did receive damage during the chase. This case is still under investigation.
