An Independence man is arrested on stalking charges.
The Independence Police Department has arrested 48-year-old Samuel Lee Wood on charges of stalking, criminal trespass, felony interference and violations of a protection order. These charges stem from an investigation in December, where a woman reported that Wood had been violating a protection order.
On January 14th, IPD officers located Wood at the intersection of Burns and Main. After Wood was notified that he was under arrest, he fled on foot. After a short pursuit, Wood was taken into custody and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
