The Parsons City Commission reorganizes for the new year.
The commission held their first meeting of 2024, swearing in Tom Shaw and Kevin Cruse as commissioners. Eric Strait was also selected as the new mayor. Strait says he's looking forward to working in his new postion.
Verlyn Bolanger was also selected to serve as President of the Board. In other business before the commission, City Manager Debbie Lambe announced a public hearing for February 3rd to determine whetehr or not to designate Oakwood Cemetery as historic. Lambe also announced that the Parsons Chamber banquet would be held on January 20th at the VFW.
