Cherryvale Schools Recognized for Excellence

 The Cherryvale School district receives national recognition for excellence.

 Lincoln Central Elementary has been named in the top 40 percent of Kansas schools by US News and World Report. Superintendent Travis Githens made the annoncement at last night's USD 447 school board meeting.

In a busy agenda at last night's meeting, the board also welcomed new members Casey Smith and Johnathan Booie (BOO) and elected Mark Torkelson as board president and Kevin Crain as vice president. The board also heard a lengthy presentation from Mike Dixon of Track Renovations of Pittsburg in regards to refurbishing the high school track. The board also discussed district expenditures for special education services within the district.
