Food Sales Tax Decreases with New Year

 

You may notice a slight decrease in your grocery bill now that the calendar has rolled over to 2024.

 

In Kansas, sales tax on groceries continues to drop, now from 4% to 2% in its next step towards eventual elimination.  Republican State Representative Ron Bryce says every drop in tax makes a difference.

 

The average family that spends $200 a week on groceries is expected to save $208 annually.
