The beef industry continues to reel from the unexpected passing of Express Ranches President Jarold Callahan.

Callahan led the efforts to give birth to Cattlemen's Congress, which is a large annual stock show that starts this weekend in Oklahoma City. In addition to his work with that event, Callahan was also serving as a member of the Oklahoma State University Board of Regents. He grew up in Welch, Oklahoma and lived his life in the state, even serving as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.

Visitation for Callahan will be held today in Vinita from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
