As the city of Caney keeps close tabs on water usage and water loss rates, changes in protocols are taking shape to help the town conserve as much water as possible.

 Until the water crisis for Caney is over, the city is not allowing underground digging companies to dig because of the potential of hitting a water line. City Administrator Kelley Zellner explains.

 Zellner says city protocols have changed, even in the last year.

 Zellner says water levels are being kept lower to prevent any water from running over the dam.
