A large structure fire late last week in West Mineral leaves a large barn a total loss.

 Fire crews from West Mineral, Columbus, and Lola and Osages Townships responded to a large structure fire last Friday night. The 4,000 square foot barn was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived on the scene. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire since it was located very close to a residence. The barn was destroyed but the house was saved and there were no injuries to either residents or emergency crews.
