With 2023 coming to an end, the Labette County commissioners heard updates from several of their departments.

County Treasurer Crystal Addis updated the commission on the changes coming to the Kansas license plate. Other updates included Health Department Director Lisa Scott, 9-1-1 Dispatch Director Brandy Scott, Noxious Weed Director Ralph George, Public Works Director Sandy Krider and JJA Director Gina Dolechek.

The commission also approved a contract for a bridge replacement in the county. Jacob McCallie with Edna Volunteer Fire Department spoke to the commission about upgrading radios and radio equipment to improve communication across the county between the departments.
