Coffeyville City Commissioners hear concerns about the awning and column removal on 9th Street with the damage to some of the buildings now showing. Vice Mayor Bob York, who owns buildings on that street, says the damage to the brick siding of buildings has nothing to do with the awning removal.
York says the damage to the brick is internal damage from rain leaking in from the roof. York says getting this kind of damage fixed can take time but the removal of the awnings makes it easier to for repairs to the sides of those buildings. When it comes to the pigeon poop, York says the removal of the awnings has decreased that significantly.
