Indy City Commission Candidates Attend Forum

Candidates for the Independence City Commission faced voters for the first time last week.

At the Candidates Forum at Memorial Hall last week the three candidates for the two open seats on the city commission had the chance to answer voters' questions. Each candidate gave their impromptu answers to the question of city infrastructure. Each were asked what they would do to maintain and improve an expensive area in the city budget. Dean Hayse says the key to infrastructure is to keep up with daily maintenance.

First-time candidate Bobby Hise says he thinks adequate funding for projects is the key.

Candidate William Scott Smith says he thinks an important part of infrastructure is to use employee knowledge to know what work needs to be done.

Hayse. Hise, and Smith will face off on the ballot in the general election on November 7th .
