A jury returns a guilty verdict following the trial of a Baxter Springs man.
After deliberating for nearly three hours, a Cherokee County Jury returned their verdict earlier this afternoon. The trial, which began Tuesday morning, came after Cherokee County Sheriff's Detectives began an investigation in November 2019, into 36-year-old Jason Miller's criminal conduct with a juvenile.
The jury found Miller guilty of three counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of lewd and lascivious behavior. The judge ordered Miller to be held in the Cherokee County Jail and scheduled his sentencing for December.
