The Montgomery County Commission approves a new grant for the county health department. At yesterday's meeting, commissioners gave the okay to a workforce grant of more than $140,000 for the Montgomery County Health Department. Health Department representative Brandee Hanna-Kirk says the grant will help the department increase their response for community needs.
The commission approved the grant by a unanimous vote. Other business before the commission at yesterday's meeting included approval to seek bids for an addition to the Sycamore Rural Fire Station and an increase in pay for correctional officers at the Montgomery County Jail.
