The South Coffeyville School Board isn't giving up after the bond to build a new gym failed. Superintendent Daryl Pruter says the issue was just a few votes short of passing.

The bond issue can be presented to voters again in about four months. At last night's meeting, the board approved budget items including $7,000 worth of door hinge and closer repairs, accepted Head Football Coach Kathen Funburg's resignation and Teacher Teresa Gofourth's retirement, and rehired personnel for the upcoming school year. The board also reviewed upcoming events, including prom on April 15^th, a performance of Little Red Riding Hood on April 20^th and 21^st, a fundraiser gala on the 22^nd and a bingo and book fair event on April 27^th to raise money for the library.
