A man wanted in connection to a shooting Tuesday in Joplin has been arrested.

 Joplin Police Captain Will Davis says a call came in around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. The caller said her boyfriend who was living at 1808 West 20th Street had been shot.

 30-year-old Aaron Birdsong was arrested on charges of 1st-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police officials say the owner of the property recently died. Neighbors were unaware of anyone living at the residence.

 The investigation is ongoing.
