U.S. 169 Passing Lane Project to Begin North of K-47

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin a project on U.S. 169 in Neosho County this week to construct passing lanes on both sides of the highway and extend the Elk Creek bridge.

The project area starts approximately one-half mile north of K-47 and continues north for two miles. Traffic will be carried through the project with lane shifts as needed. The road work should be completed by late 2023, weather permitting. KDOT awarded the construction contract of $6.6 million to Clarkson Construction Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
