Second Straight Meeting with Support for Former Fire Chief

For the second Coffeyville City Commission meeting in a row, a large number of citizens show up in support of the Coffeyville Fire Department. Mayor Ann Marie Vannoster, who addressed the group before public comments, says they cannot speak on personnel items but the grievance that was filed by the union is in process.

Ten people spoke to the commission during public comments including a 17-year-old, former MCAC Director Trisha Purdon and Former City Code Enforcer Tammy Dixon. Purdon says that communities that love and our proud of themselves are the ones that thrive.

Before adjourning the meeting Commissioner Justin Doane thanked those who attended saying he enjoyed having them there and hopes they continue to come to more meetings in the future. The meeting adjourned with no action being taken on either City Manager Mark Hall or former Fire Chief Kenneth Ward.
