Around 50 people attend a town hall in support of former Fire Chief Kenneth Ward ahead of a peaceful picket planned today.

During the meeting held at the Coffeyville American Legion, Ward outlined what led up to his termination from the fire department and his desire to be rehired and finish his career in Coffeyville. Others spoke during the meeting including Captain Mike O' Connor in his capacity with the local firefighter's union, asking anyone who does show up to picket today to be peaceful, respectful and understand that citizens must respect the legal process the city has in place.   O'Connor says he has been a part of the union for 16 years.

O'Connor says the department is very invested in this community. He says they own houses here, their kids go to school here and they don't plan on going anywhere.
