The Labette County Commission signs the contract for phase one of the zoning process for the county.

The Commission voted 2-1 on the agreement with Foster Design Associates out of Wichita. Commissioner Cole Proehl says he voted no because it is too broad.

Proehl says there are a number of things that the zoning will not affect.  Phase one will consist of a planning process to prepare land use maps, an official zoning map, and zoning regulations for the county.
