A Webb City teen will face charges after stealing a family member's vehicle and leading police on a short pursuit.
Saturday morning around 3:30, Joplin Police officers observed a Nissan Rouge driving without headlights at 7th and Jackson. When an attempt was made to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.
The pursuit continued west on 7th, then north on Schifferdecker, and ended southwest of Carl Junction. The MSHP crash report says the SUV was traveling westbound on Highway P, failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road, and struck a tree.
The 14-year-old male driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Charges at this time, if any, are unknown.
