A resurfacing project on U.S. 160 starts April 3rd.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, work will start next Monday at the east city limits of Independence and continue east for 6.3 miles to U.S. 169. Flaggers and a pilot car operation will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours. Expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The road work should be completed by mid-April, weather permitting. KDOT awarded the construction contract of just over $907,000 to Pearson Construction, LLC, of Wichita.
