A man is seriously injured after a crash near Chanute.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Dennis Arterburn of Tulsa was driving south on 169 south of Chanute late last week when he crossed the center line. Driving north was 20-year-old Levi Stainbrook of La Cynge and passenger 23-year-old James Clement who were pulling a trailer. Stainbrook attempted to avoid a collision when Arterburn's car struck the trailer being towed. The truck and trailer continued northbound, crossed the southbound shoulder and came to a stop. Arterburn was taken to the hospital in Chanute while Stainbrook and Clement had no apparent injury.
