A chase in Parsons leads to the arrest of a mother and son after a fight with officers.

According to Parsons PD, officers were dispatched Thursday to the lobby of the police department because of a man yelling at the dispatcher on duty and beating his fists against the lobby window. Officers identified the suspect as 53-year-old Clinton Vance McGinnes of rural Parsons. McGinnes screamed racial slurs at officers before speeding off from the building in his vehicle, running stop signs and narrowly missing another vehicle. McGinnes drove over 100 mph as he fled from officers south on 16th street on the way to his home on 17000 road. McGinnes eventually barricaded himself in his home, forcing officers to kick the door open. Officers chased McGinnes through the house and eventually Tased and handcuffed him. While being apprehended, his mother 72-year-old Frances McGinnes grabbed a stick and started hitting the officers on the back of their heads. Officers restrained her and also took her into custody. Charges for Clinton include battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, fleeing and attempting to elude, interference with law enforcement and several traffic offenses. The charges for Frances are aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and interference with a law enforcement officer.
