A Seneca woman is charged with DWI, involving the death of another, after an accident in 2021.
31-year-old Jessica Oliver is charged in the August 10, 2021, fatal accident on Highway 43 near Kapok Drive between Seneca and Joplin.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says Oliver's Chevy truck crossed over the center line and struck a Lincoln-Continental driven by 55-year-old Ilyas Qawishabazz, of Joplin, head-on. Qawishabazz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oliver was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries but was not arrested or charged in the case until March 16th.
No reason has been given on why the case stalled.
