The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office have identified the woman whose remains were discovered by hunters on March 16, in rural Wilson County.
The woman has been identified as 43-year-old Stephanie Willard of Fredonia.
Just before 7:00 p.m. Last Thursday, out-of-state hunters called 911 after encountering human remains in a pasture. Deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location, approximately a mile south of Coyville, Kansas, near Decatur Road. Upon arriving, deputies observed the human skeletal remains.
Anyone with contact with Willard in the past three weeks is asked to contact the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME, or the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at (620) 378-3622. Tips can also be submitted anonymously here.
The investigation is ongoing.
