MCSO Find Over 5,000 Fentanyl Pills

A pipe on the ground leads to the discovery of over 5,000 fentanyl pills.

Late last week, detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by an individual who located a PVC pipe full of blue pills at their place of work in the Coffeyville area. When detectives took custody of the pipe and the blue pills, they determined the pills to be fentanyl. The pills are made to look like oxycodone pills. Detectives and the KBI counted a total of 5,354 fentanyl pills, with an estimated street value of over 320-thousand dollars.

Sheriff Ron Wade says the individual probably saved multiple lives and hurt someone’s illegal business. Wade reminds residents that drug dealers and cartels are always trying to disguise the looks of these pills to attract youth. If you see any of these pills, please do not touch them and contact your local law enforcement.

The investigation into the origin of the pills is ongoing.
