Human Remains Possibly Linked To 2014 Missing Person Case

Human remains found last week in Crawford County, Missouri, could be connected to a missing persons case from 2014.

Search operations ended Friday in the 300 block of Mound Ridge Road. Crawford County Chief Deputy Major Adam Carnal says several items were discovered along with human skeletal remains. Several items were located that are consistent with the open missing person case from Crawford County involving Amanda Caudill.

Caudill was reported missing on December 15, 2014, along with a .270 rifle, a camouflage coat, Muck boots, and her cell phone. The items of clothing recovered during last week's search are consistent with those same items and a .270 rifle was also located. A further search of the clothing resulted in the discovery of a cell phone matching the description of Caudill's phone. A Missouri driver’s license belonging to Caudill was located inside one of the pockets.

The remains were turned over to the Crawford County Coroner’s Office for identification purposes, although authorities say it may be several months before any confirmation of identity. The Caudill family has been advised of the preliminary findings.

 The investigation is ongoing.
