A Pembroke Pines, Florida man dies after his car strikes a semi Sunday afternoon.

 The Missouri Highway Patrol says the accident happened just after noon on Highway 171, near the Katy Trail entrance, just north of Carl Junction. 30-year-old Dorian Francois' northbound 2022 Honda Civic crossed the center line and hit a southbound 18-wheeler driven by 45-year old Michael Mason of Picayune, Mississippi. Francois was pronounced dead at the scene. Mason was uninjured. Highway 171 was closed for several hours during cleanup and investigation.
