A program working through the Community Health Center and funded through a grant from the University of Kansas is helping those in need throughout Montgomery County. 

The program, Communities Organizing to Promote Equity or COPE helps anyone who is in need of almost any type of assistance.  The program helps with medical needs, transportation and finding food and supplies.  Community Health Worker Hailey Collins says a variety of needs are met through partners in the community.

Another Community Health Worker, Sara Vargas Chipres says there are a surprising number of homeless in the county as well as many who have a home but do not have utilities that need assistance. The two spoke to the Coffeyville Rotary Club.
