El Dorado Correctional Facility Resident Dies

A 35-year-old El Dorado Correctional Facility has died.

Marcos Issac Delarosa was found unresponsive in his housing unit yesterday morning. Staff began life-saving measures immediately and continued after emergency medical services arrived. Delarosa was serving a 116-month sentence, on convictions in Ford County, Kansas of three counts of possession of drugs, two counts of intent to sell drugs, and three counts of felony weapon possession.

Protocol dictates that when a resident dies in the custody of the KDOC, the death is investigated by the KDOC and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The cause of death is pending the results of an independent autopsy. The investigation is currently ongoing.

The El Dorado Correctional Facility is an all-male facility housing all custody levels with a current population of 1,738 residents.
