An officer has died and another is in serious but stable condition after a shooting in Hermann, Missouri.

 The Missouri State Highway Patrol says police were called to Casey's regarding a disturbance around 9:15 Sunday evening. Two officers were shot by 35-year-old Kenneth Lee Simpson, one in the head and one in the chest. Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith passed away from injuries sustained in the shooting.

 Information was gathered on the whereabouts of Simpson Monday afternoon, and using tactical resources, he exited the home and was taken into custody. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the officer-involved shooting. This is the first officer-involved shooting in town history.
