Severe Weather Week Continues

Severe Weather Preparedness Week continues today with a focus on hail and wind safety.

According to the National Weather Service, hail often garners less respect than tornadoes, but it can be just as deadly. Until 2003, the world's largest hailstone fell in Coffeyville in 1970 measuring in at 17.5 inches in circumference, and is estimated to have hit the ground at 105 miles per hour. A replica of the hailstone can be seen in the Dalton Defenders Museum.
