U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall are joining a bipartisan group of colleagues in urging President Biden to permit the year-round sale of E15 fuel in 2023 in order to reduce the United States’ reliance on foreign sources of energy and utilize American agriculture as an energy solution.
Seventeen total senators signed a letter sent to the president, saying E15 will ensure affordable, reliable, and cleaner fuel options for American consumers throughout the year, and will continue to displace Russian oil and finished gasoline products, easing domestic and global supply constraints, and lowering net domestic fuel prices.
The senators say there are economic benefits of the E15 waiver saved consumers sixteen cents per gallon on average, and up to nearly $1.00 per gallon in some areas of the country.
