A proposed increase to water and sewer rates was tabled during the Caney city council meeting last night.

 City Administrator Kelley Zellner requested the postponement of the rate increases until he can send out letters explaining the current situation of the water and sewer systems and why increases will be needed in the near future. Those letters will be sent to residents in the next month.

 Other business included the approval for repair and replacement of one of three sewer plant drywall pumps for just over $15,000 and the approval of the demolition of a hazardous burned structure at 411 North State Street.
