Bartlesville Man Arrested On Alcohol And Assault Charges

A Bartlesville man was arrested over the weekend on alcohol and battery charges.

The Nowata County Sheriff's Office says the incident took place around 6:15 Saturday evening when police were called to California Creek on County Road 413 north of County Road 19 for a car stuck in a ditch. The deputy found 48-year-old Monolito Stark in the driver's seat with his head slumped forward. Stark admitted to drinking intoxicating beverages and was arrested and transported to the Nowata County Jail.

Reports indicate that Stark became belligerent and uncooperative at the jail, including the attempt to stab a deputy with a key that had fallen to the floor. A taser was used to get Stark under control.

Stark has past prior convictions for assault and battery on a police officer, assault and/or battery with a dangerous weapon, escaping the Nowata County Jail, and other convictions. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
