Winter Wheat Condition Better in Oklahoma

 

The latest crop progress reports are out, and winter wheat in Oklahoma is looking better than last year.

 

Wheat in Kansas, however, is looking worse according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. In Kansas, the latest numbers show winter wheat rated at 28% very poor, 25% poor, 30% fair, 15% good and 2% excellent. In Oklahoma, 22% is rated very poor, 18% poor, 21% fair, 38% good and 1% excellent. In addition, topsoil moisture is listed as 36% very short for Kansas and only 18% very short for Oklahoma.
