Severe Weather Week Starts Today

The National Weather Service's Severe Weather Preparedness Week starts today.

As part of the week's events, the statewide tornado drill will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. This test will be broadcast over NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio. Local officials may also sound their warning sirens as well. The National Weather Service suggests you take this time to review your tornado and severe weather safety plan. Monday's theme for Severe Weather Week is having multiple ways to receive alerts, be it a NOAA weather radio, commercial radio and TV or having Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled on your cell phone. KGGF, of course, participates in the national Emergency Alert System program and provides severe weather coverage for the area year round.
